An Immaterial Survey of Our Peers

2010-03-19 22:53:05

One of my works is included in the show organized by Jogging (Brad Troemel and Lauren Christiansen). The show An Immaterial Survey of Our Peers will take place at the Sullivan Galleries in Chicago (US) as well as online.
The exhibition is actually a BFA show of the above mentioned artists without actual pieces of the two as explained in the statement: It is an intentional choice to offer no objects and no work of our own as our final display at SAIC. This is in part a tribute to the decentralized network of artists who comprise An Immaterial Survey. To present art online is an act of selflessness; the creator forfeits stringent control over their work’s meaning in favor of allowing the most generous opportunity for global viewership possible.

You Turn Me On And On And On

2010-02-22 08:02:08

The exhibition You Turn Me On And On And On curated by Angela Beck at the Embassy (Edinburgh, UK) features propositions towards infinite art. Rather than completed works, the artists asked to create plans for and descriptions of works that would be, in some sense, infinite. The creation of limitless or endless work is a preoccupation for many artists working with computer technology. The intent of this exhibition is to examine how the idea of an infinite artwork might be interpreted by artists working across a variety of media, both digital and analogue.

Artists: Aram Bartholl, Simon Biggs, Benjamin Dembrowski, Michael Demers, Olle Essvik, Martin Kohout, Margot Krasojevic, The Ludic Society, Kelly Mark, Eva and Franco Mattes, Aaron Oldenburg, Marisa Olson, Antoine Schmitt, Nathan Shafer, Jason Sloan, Simon Yuill, Grégoire Zabé

Opening 26. 02. 7-9pm, exhibition lasts till 14. 03. 10
